This privacy policy applies to the Chore Snap app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Pablo Butron (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
The Application collects information strictly necessary for its operation and service metering. This information includes:
The Photos you upload (Functional Image Data)
A persistent, non-identifying Unique Device Identifier (UUID), which is generated upon first use and stored permanently on our server.
The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device, nor does it collect user names, emails, or other traditional personal identifiers.
The Service Provider uses the persistent UUID solely to count the total number of photos processed for that unique device instance, thereby enforcing the permanent free-tier limit of five photo submissions, even if the application is uninstalled and reinstalled.
The Service Provider will only use user-provided contact information if the user initiates a support request via email. We do not use any collected data (UUID or temporary photo data) to start unsolicited communication or marketing.
The core functionality of this Application requires sharing functional image data with a third party. The photo of the messy room is securely shared with a third-party Artificial Intelligence service (Open AI/Google's Gemini) for analysis.
This data sharing requires the user’s explicit, in-app permission before any photo is transmitted, in compliance with developer guidelines. The image is shared only for the purpose of analysis and instruction generation.
The Service Provider does not share any permanently stored user data (such as the UUID or photo count) with external third parties. We only share the photo itself for the few seconds required for processing.
The Service Provider may disclose automatically collected information:
as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
The persistent, non-identifying UUID is retained permanently in the Service Provider’s database to ensure the lifetime usage metering (the 5-photo limit) for that unique device instance is maintained, even if the Application is uninstalled.
The image data (photos of rooms) is processed ephemerally and is never stored. When you submit a photo, it is transmitted to the third-party AI service (Open AI/Google's Gemini). The photo is automatically and permanently deleted immediately after the AI analysis is completed and the instructions are returned to the Application (a process that typically takes a few seconds). We do not retain, store, or reuse these images.
You can stop the collection of new photos and the counting of usage limits by uninstalling the Application. Note that the permanent UUID stored in our server will not be automatically deleted upon uninstall, as it is required to enforce the lifetime usage limit upon subsequent reinstallation. If you require the deletion of your persistent UUID, you must contact the Service Provider directly via the email address provided below.
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. Given that the Application does not collect or store any personally identifiable information (PII) from users, we do not knowingly collect PII from children. We encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children's use of the Internet.
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the limited information (UUID and ephemeral photo data) the Service Provider processes and maintains.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
This privacy policy is effective as of 2025-03-22.
By using the Application and granting explicit permission for AI processing, you are consenting to the permanent retention of the non-identifying UUID for metering purposes and the ephemeral processing of your photos as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about the practices, or wish to request deletion of your persistent UUID, please contact the Service Provider via email at pablo@butron.dev.
